Miso Support

Miso is a local-first notes and tasks app for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 26 or later. No Miso account is required.

Start writing

Press Command-N to create a note.
Press Command-K to open or search notes and task tags.
Type / at the start of a block to choose a heading, list, task, quote, or table. Divider and Table are also available from the Insert menu.
Show the task inspector from View > Show Tasks. Use View > Filter to This Note to limit the list to the open note.
Export the selected note from File > Export As as Markdown or PDF. Exporting creates a copy and does not change the note.

iCloud Sync

iCloud Sync is optional and is off until you enable it in Miso Settings. It uses your private Apple CloudKit database; Miso has no separate account or developer-operated sync server.

If sync cannot be enabled, confirm that you are signed into iCloud in System Settings and that iCloud access is not restricted. Turning sync off, signing out, or switching Apple Accounts keeps local notes on your Mac.

If something goes wrong

Miso saves automatically. If a save or sync-state write fails, Miso keeps the failure visible and lets you retry instead of silently discarding accepted work. If Miso opens its recovery screen, use Retry first. Reveal Preserved Files shows any archive generations retained for recovery.

Before sending a report, note your Miso version, macOS version, what you were doing, and the exact message shown. Do not send private note content unless it is necessary and you choose to share it.
